Rowan is a folk fiddler, singer, writer and tune collector who grew up in the foothills of the Burren on the west coast of Ireland, surrounded by traditional music. Recognised as "one of the folk scene's young stars" (The Guardian) and able to shift between different traditions and musical accents while retaining his signature sound, Rowan has published three successful books of traditional music. He is a sought-after teacher, leading workshops at festivals all over the UK and writing articles for specialist magazines.
His debut album, Mountscribe, was met with critical acclaim, as was his SONGHIVE folksong project to raise awareness of the current plight of the bees. Recently, Rowan has been performing and recording with his award-winning folk trio, The Wilderness Yet, and oldtime duo, Old Spot. |

"There are many accomplished fiddle players playing today, old and young. Rarer are those who can combine their playing with singing of such clarity and quality. Rowan Piggott is assuredly the latter... Accentuated by the crispness of his fiddle playing, his vocals are a standout among the increasingly crowded group of emerging talents on the British scene."
